I love the scent of gardenia. Throughout summer, almost on an every other day basis, I’d pick one flower and set it on my nightstand or next to my laptop during the day. The fragrance of gardenia often reminds me of a past trip to a tropical island… According to Wiki, Gardenia is a genus of 142 species of flowering plants in the coffee family, native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, southern Asia, Australasia and Oceania. That explains it!

There are less and less gardenia blooms in my garden as autumn is approaching. I am going to miss the elegant shape of each gardenia flower. In the past, I had a hard time capturing a decent shot of the beauty. The luminous white of each petal somehow just blurs the details of my photos…
I gave it another try on some of my last gardenia flowers of this past summer.
